Meet Eve Buchatskiy, VP of Special Projects at airSlate. TurnKey Lender partners with airSlate to help streamline the lending e-signing process. Join us on November 10 at 12 pm CST on LinkedIn Live to hear from Eve on an exciting new project from TurnKey Lender and airSlate. Read more below on Eve’s day-to-day and how she became a leading lady in the technology realm.

Q: How did you end up as a tech industry leader?

A: I would say it was a combination of having a technical background and having a unique opportunity to lead a startup. I am a chemical engineer by training. After my MBA, I moved to Ukraine, which at that time had one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. I was offered the role of CEO at a cleantech startup and that was my debut into the world of high-growth tech companies. A decade later, I am still happily living in this world. Now, with airSlate, I feel energized to be part of a company that is digitally transforming businesses and careers, empowering anyone to make a difference for themselves and the teams they are part of. It’s huge.

Q: What is an accomplishment that you are particularly proud of?

A: The tech world is fast-moving and full of change-makers. It is very gratifying to be a mentor, both as an operator and an investor, to a number of these talented people who are eager to learn and leave their mark. Some of them went on to create massive companies like Brex, the innovative credit card company valued at $2.6B in less than 3 years after launch.

Q: What advice would you give to young women today that are looking to start a career in the industry?

A: In comparing the tech world now to just 5 years ago, it’s clear women founders, investors, and operators have many options that are specifically tailored to them. From conferences and mentorship groups to VC firms and angel networks, the portfolio of offerings dedicated exclusively to advancing women in tech is just incredible. Personally, I leverage these opportunities as much as I can and I advise every young woman to do the same.

Q: What new advances in technology are you most excited about?

A: I am excited about democratizing tech and using it to liberate everyone from repetitive tasks so they can have more fulfilling lives. No-code automation tools enable this revolution to take place. For a small business owner, for example, to be able to intuitively implement automated workflows in a matter of hours and watch as data is smoothly transferred from all their systems of records, from their marketing funnel to their CRM and fulfillment tool, is just magic at your fingertips.

Q: As a female leader, how do you start your day? What are your tips for productivity in the midst of a busy schedule?

A: We have a big team in Europe, so I start my days very early and tend to book meetings from 7 am, to take into account the time zone difference. Mornings are usually fully booked. I take notes and create my to-do list which is later transferred to Trello. I am considering experimenting with a gadget like Remarkable. Afternoons are reserved for some US meetings, following up on the to-do’s, and mostly work that requires keeping my nose to the grindstone. The old rule of working on the big rocks (first) and not just the small ones is still valid. I need to end my day feeling like I tackled something impactful. I can’t just live on Slack. I feel that the messaging culture, despite its many pluses, can lead people towards reactive short fixes rather than meaningful work with long-lasting positive outcomes.

The biggest tip for productivity is to invest enough time in recruiting an A-team. Your efforts then get multiplied, your ideas implemented, and your results amplified. Not to mention it is fun to work with brilliant hustlers.

Q: What is your favorite way to spend your time when you aren’t working? Any tips for relaxation and unwinding?

A: Everyone around me knows that I am an avid marathon runner and am now getting into triathlons as well. No matter how busy a day may be, I always reserve 1-2 hours/day on weekdays and 2-4 hrs/day on weekends for my training outside, which is also my time with nature. I adore the outdoors. It is, if you will, my equivalent to meditation, a treat, or a sugar crave, the only thing I do for myself which I won’t give up on and it makes me way more productive for the rest of the day.

Q: Is there one piece of technology you cannot live without?

A: Outside of what I call the absolute basics which have become an extension of our bodies such as our phones, I would say at work, Slack, and on a personal level, my Garmin watch.

Q: Anything else you would like to share?

A: Today is better than yesterday. Tomorrow will be better than today. We are living in times of complete freedom to work from anywhere, upskill ourselves online for free, create hybrid careers, experiment with innovation and entrepreneurship at a fraction of the time and cost, and an ever-increasing appreciation for the benefits of diversity of people and ideas. There are no rules and no chains keeping you from thriving, just boundless opportunities everywhere.
